Are you able to perform outside of Toronto?
Yes. We can perform all over southern Ontario. We've performed in Ottawa, Sarnia, Muskoka, and Niagara-On-The-Lake to give you a few examples.
As we are based in Toronto, all events outside of the GTA will have an additional travel fee per band member (and engineer if applicable) added to the final cost. For some locations, accommodation may be required when it is not reasonably possible to return to Toronto safely after a performance. This will be addressed by a St. Royals event coordinator when preparing your customized quote.
What style of music do you play?
We primarily play a great selection of Motown, Funk & Soul - classics and contemporary hits. Our repertoire is constantly being updated, refined and adapted with a keen focus on great music that everyone loves to dance to and listen to. See the St. Royals wedding bands and events bands perform live at a free showcase in Toronto and audition the bands and the sizzling St. Royals song list. Our DJs compliment the live band by offering a huge selection of music from Jazz & Classical, Funk, Dance & Top 40.
Do we need to provide a meal for the band members?
Usually, yes. This way the band can remain on-site and be ready to perform as the flow of the evening dictates.
Can the band play extra time?
Yes, thanks for asking. That can be arranged with to the band leader on the night for an additional fee depending on the size of the band.
Will you be able to keep the volume under control?
100% yes. For all live performances we use a state of the art sound system. We bring our own AV (sound & lighting) and our own professional sound engineer - whose job it is to ensure a professional quality live mix at comfortable listening levels for the room and for your guests.
We can also provide your event & venue coordinators, and AV technicians with detailed stage plots and technical riders - so our setup is smooth and our sound is under control at your venue.
Do you take requests?
A lot of work goes into preparing and rehearsing our unique arrangements and our exciting and diverse repertoire of popular music. We would be happy to learn a specific song - for your first dance for example, but we are not able to take requests on the night.
General suggestions for additions to our funk, soul, motown & RnB repertoire are always welcome!
Are you insured?
Yes, the St. Royals live wedding bands and events bands are fully insured for liability.
Can we attend a performance at someone else's event to audition the band?
Unfortunately no. It is our policy not to bring prospective clients to a St. Royals wedding or event - just as we will not bring people to crash your event. We have regular free live showcases in Toronto which you are very welcome and encouraged to attend. This is the best way to audition The St. Royals live bands before you book.
Will you play my first dance song?
Yes, absolutely. The St. Royals will learn any one song for your first dance, but if you prefer we can arrange for our DJ to play the recorded version of your song instead. Your song selection must be provided at lease 2 weeks before your event.
Since we are constantly updating our song list and adding and polishing new songs during our regular rehearsals, it is difficult to accommodate learning more than one specific new song request for a live performance. It is always possible to have your specific songs played by the St. Royals' DJ.
Can some of my guests perform with the St. Royals band on stage?
That is not possible for many reasons - including important safety and insurance reasons.
